Toen ik las dat sommige mensen klimop als wasmiddel gebruiken om hun kledij te wassen was mijn eerste impuls om dit zelf uit te testen. Ik moet toegeven dat ik eerst wel eventjes dacht ‘amai, dat is wel heel erg back to basics’. Ik ging in de tuin van mijn mama op zoek naar klimop om deze dan mee naar huis te kunnen nemen. Best zoek je naar grote volwassen bladeren en niet de jonge, lichtgroene blaadjes.
Hoe begin je er aan
Het was erg gemakkelijk. Pluk enkele blaadjes ( 5 – 10, afhankelijk van de grootte van je was), scheur deze in grote stukken en steek ze in een sok waar je daarna een knoop in legt. Doe dit in je wastrommel en was zoals je anders zou doen.
Ik had thuis nog een waszakje liggen dus besloot dit te gebruiken in plaats van de sok. Ik moet er wel bij vertellen dat ik toen ik dit probeerde al een tijdje het eco-ei (was-ei gevuld met minerale pellets) gebruikte. Mijn was geurde sowieso nooit meer zoals bij klassiek wasmiddel en wasverzachter.
De was rook na het wassen fris en proper. Er is geen uitgesproken geur door de klimop, maar alle slechte geurtjes zijn wel volledig verdwenen. Ik zou de klimop niet gebruiken bij echt vuile was, handdoeken, vodden… Zelf gebruik ik het enkel bij relatief propere was, die eigenlijk gewoon een opfrisbeurt nodig heeft.
Wil je graag je wasbeurt met klimop extra effectief maken? Doe er dan wat natuurazijn bij. Doe deze natuurazijn rechtstreeks in de trommel bij de was en. niet in het zeepbakje. Afhankelijk van de hoeveelheid was kies je hoeveel azijn je wilt. Dit is in het begin een beetje zoeken.
Gezien klimop overal te vinden is (sinds kort ook op mijn eigen balkon in mijn nieuw appartementje, al zal deze nog wat mogen groeien) is klimop als wasmiddel een erg ecologisch goedkoop alternatief voor klassiek wasmiddel en zelfs het eco-ei. Het is dus zeker het proberen waard!
